feta - the REAL stuff is in brine
green peppers
tomatoes
onions
kalamata olives
oregano
olive oil
vinegar
NO LETTUCE!
Slice the veggies, chunk the cheese, pour liquids over, toss on
olives, sprinkle oregano.
My husband lived in Athens for a total of 5-6 years (USAF), I for
the last 2.5 years as a new wife. This is the recipe we found in
every one of the many restaurants we dined in over there. It was
explained that lettuce was added only for amerikiniki tourists who
requested it, not knowing that not all salads have lettuce.
