1-inch by 1-inch by 1/8-inch slice of blachan oil 8 fresh red chillies with their seeds, minced 2 lime leaves (optional), minced
Fry blachan in oil or wrap in foil and cook in pan on top of stove for a minute or two. Place in mortar with chillies and limes leaves and pound til a pastelike consistency.
