Print this Recipe    Whisky Sauce

1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup whiskey or
bourbon or
rum

Melt butter over medium heat.
Add sugar and stir until smooth.
(The sugar will not dissolve completely.)
Beat egg; add to the hot sauce, while whipping vigourously with a
beater or whisk.
Remove sauce from the heat.
Allow to cool 3 minutes.
Stir in your choice of spirits.

Pour over warm bread pudding.
