Scalloped Scallop

1 pint sea scallops
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 cup cracker crumbs
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup half and half, or just enough to see through the scallops
salt
pepper
paprika

Pick over scallops removing the hard shoulder on the side. Slice.
Melt the butter and add the crumbs. Put 1/2 of the crumbs in a
buttered baking dish or individual ramekins. Add the scallops and
pour in the cream. Season with salt and pepper if you wish. (I find
the scallops are salty enough.) Cover with the remainder of the
crumbs. Paprika the top and bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until
golden brown.
