Bean Soup
2-inch chunk salt pork 1 medium onion, chopped 1/4 ts ground nutmeg 1 t chopped parsley 8oz can tomato sauce 16 oz can pinto beans 1/2 ts salt 1/2 lb macaroni
Slice pork and saute 'til browned. Add onions and saute until limp. Add nutmeg and parsley, simmer slightly. Add tomato sauce and 2 cups water. Cover, simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Put beans in large pot, add 4 cups water and salt. Strain the sauce from the pork and pour over the beans. Put 3-4 ladles beans and mash thru strainer. Add macaroni, simmer until done.
