Portuguese Kale Soup

1 pound of dry white beans, navy are fine
2 pounds fresh kale, washed and chopped coarsely
1 pound linguica sausage
5 or 6 potatoes, thickly sliced
salt and pepper

Wash the beans and boil them in 4 or 5 quarts of water for a hour,
or until they are tender. Add the kale, the sausage and the
potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add more water
if necessary to cover all the ingredients. Simmer for another
hour.
