Pasta Fagoli

1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves
28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1/2 pound cooked ham or prosciutto, chopped
8 ounces ditalini
2 cups ham broth
1 Tbsp oregano
1 Tbsp basil
2 Tbsp Italian parsley
8 oz white beans

Cook pasta in 3 quarts boiling water. Saute diced onion, garlic,
and diced ham in 2 tablespoons olive oil until onion starts to
brown. Add tomatoes, basil, oregano, broth, salt, pepper, and a
little sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add beans and drained cooked
pasta. Heat through and serve with Parmesan on top.
