SEARCH RECIPES: LOCATION: Recipes >> Vegetables >> Fried Cactus    Fried Cactus French-fried Cactus This is one recipe in which we don't boil the plants first, in this one the fresh cactus are cut into french fry style strips 3/8" wide and rolled in a batter of milk and eggs then rolled through flour, cornmeal or a combination of both. It was a lot easier to prepare than we'd imagined. When we sliced the cactus after cleaning it we tasted some raw and it was surprisingly tasty. But when we fried it the color was beautiful, and the taste was scrumptious. I'll be a regular cactus eater now.
