Green Beans and Mushrooms with Porter
1/4 lb assorted wild mushrooms, sliced 2 handfuls fresh green beans, broken in half and steamed or microwaved until almost done or frozen cut green beans, cooked 1 T. olive oil 1 T. butter 1/2 tsp. dried rosemary or tarragon (whatever you like better), crushed 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes, or 1/2 tsp. chile powder 2 oz. (about) porter or brown ale -- Guiness is great, or Boulder Porter
Melt the butter and olive oil together in a skillet over med-high heat until very hot - almost smoking. Add the mushrooms and cook quickly until cooked, about 2 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes and rosemary or tarragon, and stir in. Add the green beans, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 or so minutes or until the green beans are done cooking (they don't cook as fast in there as when they're steaming). Add the beer, and boil like mad until it disappears. Thats it!
