Mushroom Gravy

Pour about 1 cup of boiling water over 1/2 a package of dried wild
mushrooms and let sit in water for about 20 mins. Dice and saute:
1 portabello mushroom, a few button mushrooms and the rehydrated
field mushrooms with some onion and garlic (maybe a little sweet
red pepper too). When mushrooms are cooked and have released their
juices place everything in a blender or food processor. Deglaze
the saute pan with the water used to soak the dried mushrooms and
some vegetable stock. Add to the mushrooms and puree until smooth.
Return to the pan to reheat, mix in a little cold water and cornstarch
to thicken. Season as you like.
