Hummus

1 1/2 cups canned chickpeas, drained
3 cloves garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon tamari
1/4 lemon juice
1/2 cup tahini
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup chopped green onion

Blend or mash chickpeas to a thick paste using a food mill, grinder
or blender or masher. Add remaining ingredients and mix well; chill
thoroughly.

Serve as an appetizer dip with pita bread, toasted pita points or
raw vegtables or use it as a sandwich spread.
