Lentil Bake

3 cups veggie stock
3/4 cup dry lentils
3/4 cup chopped yellow onion
1 large carrot scrubbed and chopped
1/2 cup long grain brown rice
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/4 cup chopped, fresh, green chilies
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Rinse the lentils under cool water until they stop foaming, Sort
for debris. Combine all ingredients and mix, turn mixture into
ungreased 1 and one half quart casserole. Bake in a 350 degree
Fahrenheit oven for one and one half hours. Stir twice while mixture
is baking. serves 4 or 5 people.
