NUTTY RICE PATTIES

2 onions, chopped
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup almonds or brazil nutes
1 cup quick oats
2 heaped tblspns Savoury Yeast Flakes (Health Food Stores)
1 tblspn plain wholemeal flour
1 clove garlic, crushed or diced finely
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 cup tomato sauce (ketchup)

Heat a small saucepan, add 1/2 cup of water and chopped onions.
Cook at low heat with lid on pan, stirring to keep onions from
browing or burning. Add a little more water if necessary. Set
aside.

In food processor or blender, blend sesame seeds, sunflower seeds
and nuts into a maze.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl (blended seeds and nuits,
oates, yeast flakes and flour).

Mix in crushed garlic, cooked rice, steamed onion (including juice)
and tomato sauce. Combine well. Form into balls and place on
oiled oven tray.

Bake at 180 deg C until golden brown (about 20 minutes, turning
after 10 minutes) OR fry in a non-stick pan with a small amount of
olive oil until brown on both sides.
