Hot Water Pie Crust
1 cup of boiling water
2/3 cup shortening
3 cups flour (self-rising is ok)
1/4 tsp salt if using plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder using plain flour
Measure the shortening, combine boiling water and shortening. Let
shortening melt. Sift flour in bowl. Add melted shortening water
to flour.
Let flour mixture cool in fridge. When cool roll out into pie
crusts. Makes 3 pies, top and bottom.
For scrap pieces to pie after filling, make cinnamon rolls. Roll
out, spread butter on top, shift thin layer of sugar, sprickle
cinnamon on top. Roll into a log. Cut, bake in oven.
